GUIDE: MARBLE CLEANING

Famous since the Roman Empire, marble is one of the most versatile and luxurious items you can have in your home. You can have it on coffee tables, sculptures, floors, surfaces. But one of the scariest things people do cleaning it up undamaged. Miss White has made a super guide for you, so you can clean yourself in case of an emergency or leave it with us, the cleaning service experts 😉

Understanding marble:

As it a natural rock, it’s necessary to understand this material is porous and sensitive for chemical products. Keep your marble away from coffee, wines, ketchup, curry, vegetables – like beetroot, metals that can rust, oils and fat. These are highly pigmented products that can stain your marble forever.

Daily Cleaning

Preferably use neutral detergent (transparent, without colors). Dissolve 10 drops of detergent in a 1 liter of water. Spray this on wipes or marble and clean with wet cloths. With a dry cloth, you can polish it.

I smeared the white marble. What can I do?

If you’ve spilled wine or coffee, for example, you should clean it up immediately. These are highly pigmented products that can stain your marble forever. If in the day after you still see some marks, use a part of water mixed with alcohol vinegar in the proportion of 10 ml of vinegar to 1 liter of water, rubbing with a brush and leaving for a few minutes. Following this step on how to clean marble, wash and dry with a clean cloth. Remember that the biggest enemy of marble is acids, so be careful when cleaning.

If you’ve had a marble surface for a long time in your home, you can use baking soda and water to give it some whiteness.

Be careful

Keep other products such as solvents, washing powder, kerosene, bleach and other corrosives away from the surface.
